PAMPORE: A youth was found hanging in his residence in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Owais Gull (27) son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a resident of Befina Pampore.

Police officials told Kashmir Reader that a youth from Befina committed suicide by hanging in his house.

According to reports, family members saw him hanging and shifted him to the sub-district hospital Pampore where doctors declared him brought dead.

A police party from police station Pampore led by SHO Zahoor Ahmad reached SDH Pampore after receiving information and they took the body under their custody.

After medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites, police officials said.

Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Pampore Police in this regard.
