Srinagar: Joint Director Agriculture extension Kashmir Mohammad Sayeed Peer on Monday inaugurated orientation cum training programme on development of seed And seed multiplication chain under holistic development of agriculture, at Agriculture complex Lalmandi Srinagar.
While addressing the participants of the training programme JD Agriculture highlighted the potential for development of seed and seed multiplication chain in the region. He said for the development of this sector UT government has approved a multi-crore project to boost seed production in the region. He said the project is aimed to increase production, productivity and to attract more and more educated youth towards this sector.
Joint Director Agriculture asked the officers of the allied departments to work in coordination so that the desired results under different projects could be achieved in comprehensive and time bound manner. He asked the officers to ensure that the concerned farmers (seed producers) are made aware of the schemes and programmes of the government for the promotion of seed production in the UT of J&K.
