Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal on Tuesday visited seed multiplication farm tapper kreeri and took stock of agriculture activities related to various rabi crops (including carrot, turnip, methi, etc.) and preparations for the distribution of seedlings of different vegetable crops(including Hybrid knol-khol, cabbage, cauliflower, bottle guard, cucumber, bitter guard, Squash, tomato and brinjal) for commercial purposes. He visited different blocks and poly houses at the farm and held discussions with concerned officers and technical experts.

The Director Agriculture while speaking on the occasion asked the concerned officers of the farm to ensure that sufficient quantity of seedlings of different agriculture crops is made available to the farmers of the area well in time. He highlighted the importance of introducing new varieties of different agriculture crops (with more production and productivity) at the farm and help farmers of the area to get acquainted with the benefits of introducing such varieties.

He also discussed some innovative ideas regarding the cultivation of different crops with the officers and technical experts of the farm. He asked the concerned officers to adopt latest technologies during the cultivation of different crops so that the same could be replicated at the farmers’ field in a comprehensive manner.
