Srinagar: Mirwaiz Manzil on Sunday informed that the wife of Moulvi Muhammad Ashraf, son of late Moulvi Habibullah Shah and grandson of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulana Ahmadullah Shah Sahib, passed away on Saturday, February 11, at her residence at House Number 08, Housing Colony Peer Bagh Srinagar. She was the aunt of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq.

The deceased was buried in the graveyard of Mirwaizeen later in the evening. Moulvi Muhammad Ashraf is the former Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies and former General Secretary of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam.

Unfortunately, due to his continued house arrest Mirwaiz could neither participate in the funeral prayers of his late aunt, nor visit his uncle’s house for condolences and to share the grief with the family.

Meanwhile mourning for the deceased will be observed till tomorrow at the Peer bagh residence, and as per family tradition there will be no congregational Fateha Khwani , the statement said.
