Bandipora’s Gund Bulakh Gundjahangir without electricity for over two weeks

Gundjahangir: Residents of Gund Bulakh Gundjahangir are up in arms against Power Development Department as the area is reeling under darkness for the past 15 days due to a technical snag in a newly installed transformer.
The residents while talking to Kasmir Reader said that the 200 KV transformer developed some snag minutes after was installed. Since then, it is yet to be repaired.
The locals accused the Power Development Department (PDD) of being indifferent to their woes. “It has been 15 days now, and there is not even a whisper by the officials, which speaks volumes about the lack of concern for our woes,” Aijaz Ahmad, a local said.
“We are without electricity for 15 days and no one is paying any attention. as Don’t we pay electricity bills? he asked.
As per local, the area earlier had a 60 KV transformer which was upgraded to the 200 kV transformer to meet the load shedding. However, the new transformer developed a snag within 10 minutes after installation, they said.
Another local, Zaid Ahmad, said the new 200 KV transformer was sanctioned by Sarpanch from his PRI grants.
The locals have appealed to the district administration to resolve the issue on a priority basis so that people do not face inconvenience for long.
