Dir Research SKUAST-K for regaining J&K’s glory as producer of high-quality bio-voltine silk

Srinagar: The second presentation of Divisional Level Orientation Programme of Apex Projects on Technological interventions to strengthen sericulture in UT of JK was conducted at Directorate of Research SKUAST-Kashmir.
Prof. Sarfaraz A. Wani, Director Research, SKUAST-K in his address briefed the trainees about the importance of sericulture. He emphasized on regaining J&K’s glory as a producer of high-quality bio-voltine silk by putting technological interventions into operations.
Additional Director Sericulture Shabir Ahmad praised the efforts for providing a platform to the extension functionaries to improve upon their capacity for the development of this sector. He assured full cooperation from the department for the effective implementation of this project.
Prof. M. F. Baqal Associate Director Research, CoTS Mirgund SKAUST-Kashmir and Dr. Firdous Malik Assistant Professor CoTS Mirgund SKUAST-Kashmir delivered the detailed presentation of the project. A threadbare &healthy interaction session was also conducted during the orientation for successful implementation of the project.
Prof. Nasir Ahmad Dar Nodal Officer Divisional Level Orientation Programme conducted the proceedings of the session and expressed thanks to the participants for making the session purposeful, interactive and lively. Dr Irfan A Bisati (Associated Scientist Divisional level Trainings) from Directorate of Extension SKUAST-Kashmir Coordinated various activities related to the progarmme.
