PAMPORE: Police on Wednesday organized a cyber awareness programme in this Saffron Town of Pampore area of the police district Awantipora.
Sub Division Pampore Office (SDPO) Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad along with SHO Pampore Muneer Ahmad hosted the cyber awareness programme at English Training Academy Pampore.
SDPO Pampore shared highly valuable information about cyber-related were discussed. The programme was organized on the directions of SSP Awantipora Mohammad Yousuf, a police official told Kashmir Reader.
The programme was chaired by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad, accompanied by SHO Khrew Manzoor Ahmad, and attended by students and staff members of the academy, the official said, adding that the main motive behind conducting the programme was to create awareness about trending cyber frauds among the students.
The chairing officer Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad advised the students to adopt safe browsing habits to avoid suspicious websites while surfing the internet. They were also advised not to share OTPs or bank account details or passwords with anyone and adopt precautions while performing internet banking and online transactions, he said.
The students and staff of the academy appreciated the efforts of the police especially SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad for organizing a cyber awareness programme and spreading awareness about various cyber crimes among the students and staff members of the academy.
