Man injured in bear attack in Pampore village, shifted to SMHS

PAMPORE: A man was seriously injured by a wild bear in Ladhoo village of Pampore Tehsil area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday evening.
40-year-old Mohammad Ameen Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Herpora Ladhoo was attacked by bear at the orchids in the village on Monday evening, SHO Khrew Manzoor Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that Dar received injuries in his arm when he was grazing cattles when the bear attacked him. He was later rushed to SMHS Srinagar for treatment. His condition is said to be stable, he said.
Range Officer Range Khrew Khursheed Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that they received information on today evening about the wild animal attacked a middle aged man when he was grazing cattles along with two other persons at Ladhoo village on Monday evening.
The man received injures and was rushed to Srinagar hospital , where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports last came in.
Earlier, this week Wildlife department Range Khrew launched a search operation at Khunchoo village of Pampore in after a wildlife bear spotted in the area by locals.
A search operation was started by the wildlife in Khunchoo village where the black bear were spotted by local residents, officials said.
