Good governance week celebrated at Tehsil office, Pampore, Auqaf Committee raises various issues of Saffron Town

PAMPORE: In connection with the celebration of ‘Good Governance Week’, Block Divas programme was held at Tehsil office Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
During the programme various delegations including Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore led by its President Mohammad Maqbool Shah raised various issues concerning the Saffron Town Pampore.
The president of Idara Auqaf raised various issues including Parking slot and filling up of two vacant posts for doctors (Orthopedic and Opthomologist) at SDH Pampore, regular Sumo service from Pampore to Lal Chowk, to get rid of street dog menace and other issues of public importance.
He stressed upon the administration that a parking slot for vehicles ferrying patients to the hospital was the need of the hour as serious patients shifted to tertiary hospitals to get choked as the road leading to the hospital is narrow and vehicles are parked on the road.
” Our fire service station too lies on the same road and the fire tenders don’t have space to reach the designated spots on time which could lead to loss of property and even life, ” he said, adding that solid waste management shed must be operated as early as possible.
He appreciated the efforts of the administration for taking such initiatives and hoped that such meetings must be result oriented in order to maintain faith amongst the people, Mohammad Maqbool Shah told Kashmir Reader.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Tehsildar Pampore, Zubair Ahmad Bhat said that they have been celebrating such programmes in various villages and today’s programme is important as Saffron Town Pampore holds centrality.
He said that the delegations have stressed upon many issues, however, provision of toilet facilities and bus stands at various places was a must.
He further said that he has instructed the line departments to submit reports within 10 days and defaulters would be dealt stringently.
” Governance and administration has become more efficient after 2019 as initiatives have been taken to reach out to the people and make them aware about the schemes benefiting them,” he said, adding that awareness programmes too have been taken so that no one remains unaware about the schemes benefitting the deserving populace.
