ANC delegation meets family of girl who committed sucide in Sopore

SRINAGAR: A High level delegation of our party J&K Awami National Conference (ANC) led by the undersigned along-with ANC Senior leaders Adv Mir Mohammad Shafi, Ab. Rashid Wani, Rahi Riyaz Ahmad, Mohammad Sultan Bhat, Syed Murtaza, Dr Hilal Ahmad accompanied by former MP Jenab Ab. Rashid Shaheen visited Sopore & met with the family of the young girl who committed suicide nine days ago after jumping from the Sopore bridge.
The delegation paid condolences on behalf of ANC President Begum Khalida Shah & later visited the spot where the incident took place.
The delegation said that certain major lapses in the operations being conducted through the district administration for recovery of the dead body from the river Jhelum calling for rope in the specialists of this field from the SDRF or the marine wing of the Army who could retrieve the body by using the modern & sophisticated equipment at their disposal for such calamities.
It also called for widening the sphere of the search operations needed to widen beyond Baramulla with specialist divers along with the local volunteer divers. This operation is required at once.
It called itVery unfortunate that the district administration & the DC Baramulla has not found time to visit the family & the spot till now. Hope that the DC reputed for her administrative capabilities pays a visit to the family & leads from the front in this case.
