SRINAGAR: Vice-chancellor IUST, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Thursday flagged off University Football Team(Men) for participation in the Inter-University Football Tournament to be held at GNA University Phagwara Punjab.
The 16 member squad shall take part in the tournament in which 80 teams from all across the country are participating. Prof Romshoo wished the team the best and urged the players to play the game in great spirit and be the best ambassadors of the University.
He said that the University is committed towards further developing Sports infrastructure and encouraging students to participate in sports events held at the National and International levels and emphasized that such opportunities allow the participants to learn from each other and encourage sportsmanship and fraternity.
The team is accompanied by the officials of the Directorate of Physical education, IUST.
