DODA: Department of Zoology, GDC Doda on Monday signed MoU with National Agriculture Development Co-operative Ltd. (Baramulla), India.
For the mutual benefit of both institutes and under the patronage of Principal GDC Doda Dr Attar Singh Kotwal, Department of Zoology, GDC Doda, headed by Dr Ajaz A Wani and National Agriculture Development Co-operative Ltd. (Baramulla), India; headed by Dr Pir Qamar Din, Chairman NADCL Baramulla; signed Memorandum of Understanding. The faculty members including Astt. Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed, Dr Neelam Saba and Dr Munish Thakur accompanied them at that time. Deptt. of Zoology GDC Doda recognized that most of the students in Zoology Department are from rural backgrounds and are directly or indirectly linked with agriculture sector. Sensitization of these young brains towards problem sharing, problem solving and scope related to modern agriculture will definitely yield fruitful results.
Both institutes that can be said as parties agreed that mutual cooperation can be sought on the parameters of seeking mutual advice and support in planning and executing programs promoting excellence in modernization of agriculture and making it more farmers friendly. The parties also agreed to encourage visits of students of GDC Doda to the other department for exposure to the evolutionary trends in agriculture and related sectors and also to encourage regular visits of experts of either department to ensure sensitization of new brains of society regarding the bright future and significance of modern agriculture and allied sectors.
