Power Deptt daily wager dies in Awantipora

PAMPORE: A daily wager worker of Power Development Department died on Wednesday morning in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, PDD officials said.
A 35 year old daily wager of the Power Development Department was found unconscious at receiving station STD Awantipora.
He was immediately evacuated to PHC Awantipora where doctors declared him dead, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The deceased was identified as Rafiq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Donipawa Anantnag.
SHO Awantipora Mohammad Younis Khan told Kashmir Reader that soon after receiving the information, a police team rushed to PHC Awantipora.
” He was brought dead at PHC Awantipora where from the body was shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for medico legal formalities,” the SHO said, adding that police has registered a case under 174 CrPC and started further investigations to ascertain the actual cause of death.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the family members for last rites.
Medical Officer SDH Pampore Dr Bilal Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that they received a dead body at SDH Pampore at 9:00 am.
” The deceased was a casual employee of PDD posted at Awantipora, he was shifted to PHC Awantipora in an unconscious state where from he was referred to SDH Pampore, he was dead on arrival at PHC Awantipora,” he said, adding that on instructions of police and PDD officials his postmortem was conducted at the Sub District hospital Pampore.
He said that the cause of death will be ascertained once a postmortem report is received.
