Auqaf Committee Pampore lauds police action against drug peddlers

PAMPORE: Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust (IAIT) Pampore has lauded Jammu and Kashmir Police for their grit and dedication in dealing with drug peddlers in the Saffron Town Pampore.
Idara Auqaf Islamia Trust Pampore would support and co-operate in identifying and bringing those to justice who have nefarious designs to break the social fabric.
The services of SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad would never go in vain and would be remembered by the Pampore public, IAIT Pampore said.
While talking to Kashmir Reader President IAIT Pampore Mohammad Maqbool Shah said that it is a welcome gesture from the police for their efforts in their dealing with drug peddlers.
He said that we expect stern action against those involved and not let loose the reins on them so that the next generation does not get involved in such kind of activities.
He also appealed to the public of Pampore that they should come forward if they get a sniff of such activities particularly those involved in drug peddling.
‘Be watchful of your wards so that they do not get involved in such a menace,’ he appealed, adding that all the organisations especially the IAIT Pampore is very thankful to police Pampore especially SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad who should sternly deal with those involved in drug peddling.
Earlier, four drug-peddlers were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) by J&K Police in Sub Division Pampore area of police district Awantipora on Saturday.
Police Pampore have arrested 30 drug peddlers this year in 16 NDPS cases registered in Police Station Pampore and Khrew area of in Police Sub Division Pampore and 11 hardcore drug peddlers involved in different NDPS cases have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) so far.
These drug peddlers were arrested during raids, naka checking along with contraband substances recovered from their possessions.
