SKUAST-Kashmir Fisheries student bags Young Scientist Award

Srinagar: A doctoral student at SKUAST-Kashmir’s Faculty of Fisheries Ganderbal, Asim Iqbal Bazaz, has been conferred with Young Scientist Award during National Symposium on Fisheries and Aquaculture for Livelihood and Nutritional Security organised by ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Uttarakhand in collaboration with Coldwater Fisheries Society of India recently
Asim was awarded for his doctoral research work on “Production of sterile trout (Triploids) using thermal shock treatment in Oncorhynchus mykiss and Salmo trutta fario” done under supervision of Dr. Tasaduq H. Shah, Associate Prof., Division of FRM, Faculty of Fisheries, Rangil.
Padma Bhushan Dr. R. S. Paroda, former Secretary DARE & Director General, ICAR was the chief guest at the event. The event was attended, among others, by Dr Pramod Kumar Pandey, Director, ICAR-DCFR, Dr. G. Sugumar, Vice Chancellor, TNJFU, Tamil Nadu, Dr Dilip Kumar, Former Vice-Chancellor, ICAR-CIFE Mumbai and Dr B. K. Mohanty, ADG ICAR.
