Gowhar Bhat elected unopposed as president of FAP

PAMPORE: Gowhar Bhat was elected unopposed as president of newly formed Football Association Pampore (FAP).
The elections of the new football Association Zone Pampore for various posts were held on Wednesday at Pampore.
Zahid Shafi was elected as general secretary while as Sajid Nazir Treasurer.
The election was held under the Chairmanship of Wasim Aslam Chairman JK Football Association, General Secretary JK Football Association, Prof Bashir Ahmad Shah
Social Activist Dr Tauseef and former football player Mohammad Rafiq.
Various football clubs including Dcode Future FC Pampore, Etihad FC Pampore, Football lovers of zone Pampore and others were present on the occasion.
Prof Bashir Ahmad Shah, chairman of JKFA told Kashmir Reader that they visited Pampore in connection with elections for zonal body.
“The zonal elections were held today and various office bearers for the zone were elected unopposed,” he said, adding that he hopes that the zonal body will work with JK football association shoulder to shoulder so that football is taken to a new high in Kashmir.
Wasim Aslam, Chairman JK Football Association told Kashmir Reader that they received three nominations for the post of president, one each for secretary and treasurer.
“Two persons withdrew their nominations before due date and Gowhar Ahmad Bhat was elected unopposed as president,” he said.
President Gowhar Ahmad Bhat extended greetings to newly elected office bearers and assured they will help the young talent in creating facilities for them.
