Camps held at Anantnag, Shopian

ANANTNAG: The District Administration Anantnag in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Anantnag today organized a mega legal services awareness camp at Govt College for Women Anantnag, here.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom and Principal District and Sessions Judge (PD&SJ) Anantnag, Naseer Ahmad Dar were present on the occasion.
The main purpose of organizing the camp was to disseminate information regarding beneficiary oriented schemes. On the occasion, stalls were erected by various departments for dissemination of information and on spot registrations.
The employees of Health, Industries, Handicrafts and Handlooms, Banks, Labour and Employments, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Urban Local Bodies, Rural Development and Revenue were seen disseminating information regarding various beneficiary oriented schemes among the public.
Speaking on the occassion, the DC said the event is an example of inter-departmental coordination for effective service delivery. It is an effort to reach to the last mile beneficiaries, he said adding that responsive accessible governance is top most priority of Govt.
Dr Basharat said that more than 200 potential beneficiaries were enrolled in self employment schemes today which is reflective of the emphasis on Youth Centric measures and the willingness of the youth to engage in productive measures.
The PD&SJ Anantnag said that DLSA has been at the forefront in organising awareness camps to educate people about legal rights available to them as well as regarding welfare schemes in place.
He said that interdepartmental coordination has been instrumental in organizing the mega legal services camp. He said that stalls established by various departments will be instrumental in spreading awareness among people regarding various beneficiary oriented schemes in vogue, eligibility and benefits available.
He said that his interaction with various beneficiaries has convinced him that administration is taking all steps to reach out to the last mile beenficiary.
Secretary DLSA, Mir Wajahat gave an overview of the Legal Services Authority framework as well as various achievements of DLSA Anantnag. He said that the genesis of interventions is in ensuring doorstep delivery of justice and in spreading awareness regarding welfare schemes.
He said that it is a constitutional mandate to give access to every form of Justice, social, economical and political to every citizen in every farthest corner of this country at their doorsteps. These camps serve as collaborative essences to let people feel the essence of justice, have reach to lofty ideals of justice and have utmost faith in the justice.
The program was attended by SSP Anantnag, SE R&B, Principal GCW Anantnag, CMO, CAO, LDM JK Bank, DSHO, ACR, other District / Sectoral Officers, Tehsildar Anantnag, Faculty and Students of GCW, school students and beneficiaries.
Meanwhile a one-day Legal Services Awareness Camp was today organized by the District Administration Shopian in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority Shopian at Mini Secretariat, here.
Feroz Ahmad Khan Secretary/ Sub Judge DLSA Shopian alongwith Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmad Boda inaugurated the CampAmong others the camp was attended by various district/sectoral officers and officials and people.
Earlier, they inspected the stalls which were established by the line departments.
The purpose of the camp was to sensitize the public on free legal aid available for the marginalized sections of the society. The public also got the opportunity to interact with several government departments including Banks and get oriented with the various welfare programs/schemes of the government.
They distributed land passbook among the landholders.
The camp was organised under two-week pan-India campaign which started from October 31 to November 13, is to work at there grass roots level and build capacity for the incapacitated.
Secretary DLSA while briefing, said that the Legal Services Authority with an objective to reach out to the poor and needy people is conducting such kind of camps so that the targeted section of the society can avail the various welfare measures and beneficial schemes and policies of the government.
Through this camp, the public were sensitized about their rights and entitlements so that they can avail maximum benefit out of the government schemes.
