KVK Srinagar organizes an awareness programme for tribal farmers of Sangri Khonmoh

Srinagar: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Srinagar organized an awareness cum fodder/pulse seed distribution programme for tribal farmers of Sangri Khonmoh. The programme was presided over by Senior Scientist & Head, Dr. Sajad Mohi-Ud-Din and attended by scientific staff of the Kendra and 30 farmers and farm women of the locality.
After welcoming the participants of the programme, Senior Scientist & Head of the Kendragave detailed information regarding scientific cultivation and package of practices of fodder oats.
He highlighted the importance of ensuring availability of nutritious fodder throughout the year for livestock, so that the loss of animal productivity witnessed during the winters is offset to a greater extent, through cultivation of fodder varieties having better tonnage. The participants of the programme were given detailed information regarding prevention and management of lumpy skin disease in cattle.
At the culmination of the programme, quality seed oats and field pea were distributed by the Kendra among the participating farmers
