BGSBU organises the National Conference on the Future of Tourism and Hospitality Industry

Rajouri: The Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in collaboration with Himalayan Khyber Resorts and Spa, Gulmarg organised a one-day national conference on the theme ‘Future of Hospitality and Tourism: Innovations, Governance and Critical Paths’, here.
Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor of BGSBU said that the theme of the conference is one of the high priorities in present times and it is the responsibility of researchers all over the world to explore the future trends of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry. Prof. Akbar said that after covid-19, for the Tourism industry, it won’t be business as usual, and we need to redefine, refocus and change the game plan to move forward. Prof. Akbar Masood mentioned that the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism is marching ahead to come up with cutting edge research in Tourism studies and this conference is one such initiative where scholars from across the country have come together to exchange their ideas. Prof. Akbar appreciated the Centre for organising the conference.
Prof. Iqbal Parwez Dean Academic Affairs in his address said that Tourism being the most vital practice for an economy has got the prime attention of all stakeholders of modern civilization. Prof. Iqbal mentioned that the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted several industries, and hospitality was particularly affected. However, it showed immense resilience, and it continues to flourish. He lauded the efforts of the organising committee for the successful conduct of the event.
Deputy Director Centre for Hospitality and who was the Co patron of the conference, in his welcome address welcomed all the dignitaries, delegates and participants and introduced the theme of the conference.
Those who presented expert talks on the occasion included Prof. Divya Thakur IEC University Dr. Rayaz Qureshi University of Kashmir, Puneet Saxena Nayush Travel Experiences Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Ashiq Najar Central University of Kashmir, Peerzada Faiyaz Ahmed .
Responsible Tourism Society of India, Dr Ashaq Malik Govt. PG College Rajouri and Dr. shreekar Pant BGSBU.A panel discussion was also held on the occasion. Two parallel technical sessions were held in which research scholars and faculty members presented their research contributions. Dr. Parvez Abdulla, Organising secretary of the conference proposed the vote of thanks. The conference received a very good response from researchers from all over the country.
