SRINAGAR: Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir Dr Nazir Ahmad Ganai inaugurated the LISA-2020 Webinar program on “10 Statistical Mistakes To Watch Out For When Writing Or Reviewing A Manuscript” 0n 04 October, 2022. Professor Eric Vance Global director of LISA 2020 program briefed about the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis(LISA) 2020 program. Dr Kimberly Love Assistant director welcomed the Chief guest Prof Nazir Ahmad and introduced the speakers. The webinar was jointly conducted by SKUAST-Kashmir and University of Colorado Boulder, USA and Stellenbosch University South Africa. More than 120 participants from different countries viz USA, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Brazil attended this webinar. The event was by organized by SKUAST-K-LISA the official member of LISA-2020 which is a network of 36 Stat labs worldwide headquartered at USA.
The experts Dr Imran Khan, Associate Professor Statistics and Coordinator SKUAST-K LISA, SKUAST-Kashmir and Prof Tonya Esterhuizen from the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit, Stellenbosch University delivered the lectures on different aspects. Professor Nazir Ahmad in his address mentioned how statistics field has grown from time to time and is one of the most interesting fields to work in today’s era of data science. He congratulated Dr Imran for his efforts. A feedback from attendees was encouraging with the suggestion that more such events to be organized from time totime.
