Health Department sensitises people about leprosy at Ramban

RAMBAN: To mark the Gandhi Jayanti, the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the Department of Health conducted the Kusht Mukti Abhiyan, besides taking a pledge on cleanliness in District Hospital, Ramban today.
On the occasion, the Chief Medical Officer, Ramban, Dr Kamal Jee Zadoo administered a pledge to all the staff of the hospital to maintain cleanliness in and around their surroundings.
District Health Officer, Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Dr. Mohammed Rafi, Para Medical Staff and Leprosy Malaria Inspector, Dharampal sensitized the patients and their attendants about the symptoms, causes and treatment of leprosy.
They said that leprosy is not contagious, has a long incubation period and its patients should not be loathed or hated. They stressed on its early treatment as it is curable.
