DC Ganderbal reviews functioning of HWCs in district

Directs for completion of screening of remaining in mission mode

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting of the Health Department to review the functioning of Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) in the district.
At the outset, brief discussion was held regarding the functioning of HWCs including availability of health services, manpower and screening of population in the district.
The meeting also discussed the status of screening of the entire population through Health teams and ASHAs in the district. The CMO informed that the maximum population has been screened. The DC directed the CMO to chalk out the action plan through BMOs which is applicable so that screening of the remaining population is completed in a mission mode.
He directed all the BMOs to ensure all ASHAs are well trained in filling the Community Based Assessment Checklist (CBAC) Form which is imperative for early Detection of Non Communicable Diseases and other chronic diseases so that a safe and secure environment is ensured to our population.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that Health and Wellness Centers are envisaged to deliver an expanded range of services to address the primary health care needs of the entire population in their area including free essential drugs and diagnostic services.
He emphasized on keeping people healthy by engaging and empowering individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviours and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases and morbidities.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; CMO, DrAfroza Shah; CEO, BMO and other officials of health department.
