Shakir’s lone goal scripts Parimpora FC’s title triumph

PAMPORE: Shakir Ahmad’s lone goal proved to be difference as Parimpora Football Club edged past Syed Football Club in the summit clash of 7-A-Side Iqbal Footbal tournament under floodlights played at Sports Stadium Margi Pampore.
In the finals player under floodlights, Shakir scored a goal in the first half and Parimpora FC managed to hold on to the lead till the end of stipulated time.
The tournament was organised by the local youth of Pampore, saw as many as 32 teams vying for the title glory culminating with Parimpora FC pocketing the trophy.
Parimpora FC fielded players from Nigeria who enthralled the crowd with their play.
Organiser of the tournament Mukhtar Ahmad, told Kashmir Reader top players from J&K and some Nigerian recruits had crowd on their feet through their skill levels. With tournament played under lights, crowd came in huge number to witness the games. We are hopeful for more such tournaments in the future which will provide players a platform to showcase their skills.”
Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat, Tehsildar Waqf Board Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Managing Director Fashion Fiesta Adnan Shah besides other guest were in attendance to watch the finals. Locals and players alike appreciated the organisers for smooth conduct of the night tourney under floodlights.
Adnan Shah distributed prizes among the winners and runner Up teams. He also congratulations to the orginisers of the tournament.
