Anantnag: A one day workshop on “use of lasers in dentistry” was today held here in Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Friday.
The workshop was held at Esthetica, a state of the art dermatology and dentistry clinic, with the distinction of being the only clinic in Kashmir to have Soft-Tissue Lasers for dental procedures.
The workshop was attended by some of the senior most dentists, from across the Anantnag district, who appreciated the initiative – one of the first such in Kashmir valley.
“The workshop was beneficial given the live demos and hands on experience we managed to garner through the day,” Dr Adil Ahmad, a renowned dentist, told Kashmir Reader.
Dr. Abdul Minam, an expert in laser-dentistry, had flown in from the national capital to spearhead the workshop. He delivered lectures and got the dentists, attending the workshop, acquainted with the subject.
“It was a wonderful experience, given the participants were inquisitive and really interested in what was being imparted,” Minam said.
Director of Esthetica, Dr. Muhammad Abid Keen, said he was thrilled to have held this pathbreaking workshop in Anantnag.
“We are trying to change things vis-a-vis health care here in Anantnag and in Kashmir. The first step was to get the latest equipment for patient care. We have equipment in both dermatology and dentistry that no other clinic has in Kashmir,” Keen told Kashmir Reader.
He said that through such workshops they were trying to inculcate a culture where every doctor keeps upgrading as per the latest innovations.
“We are thrilled at the response we have received and we hope the workshop was just the beginning towards a better future, where such workshops will be a norm,” he said.
The participants thanked Esthetica for having come up with such a noble idea, and said that they will surely be upgrading their skill sets beginning from what they got to learn at today’s workshop.
