Medical camp organised by Army at Chuntiwari, Macchal

Srinagar: Chuntiwari is a remote village in the Machhal Valley and is a conglomeration of a number of small villages. The nearest medical facility for some of these small villages is at minimum a two hour trek and for access to medical specialists the villagers need to visit Kupwara or even Srinagar.
The Indian Army as part of the Sadbhavana initiative organised a Mega Medical Camp for the residents at Chuntiwari and nearby villages.
Three specialists for the camp were called from Srinagar; a gynaecologist, pediatrician and general physician. Two Doctors from the local Army Unit also participated in the event.
The Camp benefitted a total of 200 villagers with about 93 males, 78 females and 25 children from the surrounding area and was especially beneficial for the ladies and children. The villagers asked for an increased frequency of medical camps like this in the area.
