LSD awareness camp held at B’pora

ADDC stresses on Fogging and fumigation of epicenters

BANDIPORA: The Department of Animal Husbandry, Bandipora today organised a Lumpy Skin Diseases (LSD) awareness camp at Town Hall, MC Bandipora.
The camp was attended by ADDC Bandipora, DDC Hajin B, DDC Arin, CAHO, BVO, Nodal officer LSD, VASs of the Block Bandipora, PRIs, besides a huge number of dairy farmers.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Afsar Ali Khan in his speech appreciated the efforts of the Department of Animal Husbandry Bandipora in controlling the disease so far in the District.
He further directed CEO, MC Bandipora to initiate Fogging and fumigation in and around all the epicenters of Block Bandipora.
CAHO, Dr G A Lone while addressing the gathering advised them to follow all the SOPs viz. reporting, isolation and treatment of affected animals followed by disinfection and spray of fly repellants in and around the premises.
On the occasion, Dr Syed Sharik Shakeel (Nodal Officer, LSD Bandipora) informed the participants on the methods and ways to prevent the spread of the disease among bovines.
BVO, Dr M Ramzan Chopan stressed on the importance of vaccination to combat the disease.
DDC Hajin, Dr Ghulam Mustafa and DDC Arin Ghulam Mohuidin in their address advised the dairy farmers to abide by all advice given by the officials of Animal Husbandry Department regarding LSD.
In the concluding session, dairy farmers raised queries regarding LSD which were duly addressed by the experts.
