Two day international conference on ‘Society, Culture, Social Change: Kashmir and Beyond’ held at IUST

Srinagar: A two day International conference on “Society, Culture, Social Change: Kashmir and Beyond” was organised by the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora in collaboration with Indian Sociological Society. The conference included a mix of sub-themes and technical sessions and one session in the said programme under the sub-theme “Science, Society, Environment, Media and Technology” was chaired by Prof. M. S.Pukhta, Head, Division of Agricultural Statistics, SKUAST-K and was organised by Dr. Immad A Shah, Lecturer, Division of Agricultural Statistics, SKUAST-K at the Board Room of the food Technology Block of IUST. More than twenty participants from within and outside the state had registered for the said session. The presentations revolved around the role of machine learning application in IoT based agriculture and smart farming and it was emphasized that Scienceandtechnologyinagricultureplayavitalroleinoverallglobaldevelopment.In Developing Countries,thegeneraltrendisaslowdowninproduction,and many countries have negative balances.Asaresult,basicfoodimportsandavoidableforeignreservedrainsarebeingcarriedout. Registrar IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal facilitated and congratulated the chair and organiser of the session for its smooth conduct and knowledge dissemination. The session chair, Prof. M S Pukhta thanked the conference organiser Prof. Pirzada Mohammad Amin, Controller Examination IUST for providing an opportunity to the scholars of the SKUAST-K, for presenting their thoughts and ideas on such a big platform.
