Srinagar: The Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration of Mission Youth J&K is organizing a mega sports carnival in Jammu & Kashmir.
The main of the sports carnival is to engage youth in sports activities and to provide a better platform to J&K Youth for channelizing their energies in the best way.
The first of its kind sports tournament in cricket is being played by youth between 19-35 year age groups. The participants at large scale while showing interest in LGs Rolling Trophy have got themselves registered for the sports extravaganza.
At district level cash awards for first three positions have been fixed at Rs 50000, Rs 25000, Rs 10000 respectively while as man of the series and man of the match shall win the cash prizes of 10000 and 1000 respectively at this level. At inter district UT level cash awards for the first three positions have been fixed as Rs 1 lac, Rs 75000, Rs 50000 respectively. Man of the series and Man of the match title winners shall get a chance to win cash prizes of Rs 50000 and 2500 respectively.
Around 20354 applicants have gone through the process of selection trials across all the 186 sports zones of the UT and the process is still on. Previously the Department under a large publicity campaign for the registrations of the trophy had asked the interested youth to get themselves registered on the dedicated web portal being run by the Department of YS&S. A competent team of selectors have been assigned the task of selecting the respective zonal teams.
The district level competitions of the tourney will be held between the zonal level selected teams. Under the third and last leg of the trophy, the competitions will be held between the teams of all the 20 districts of Jammu & Kashmir.
Leading in the process of selection and registration tally, district Kupwara is moving ahead with a total number 3026 participants till date.
