Bandipora: The first District Kalaripayattu Championship was held at Govt. Higher Secondary School Shadipora, Bandipora on the 28th August. Around 250 players hailing from District Bandipora participated in the two day long championship.
The closing ceremony was presided over by ADDC Bandipora Afsar Ali Khan in presence of Medical Superintendent Kashmir Tibiya College Dr. Iftikar Gazi, Mohsin Mir and organizing Secretary District Bandipora Kalaripayattu Championship Aakil Nazir Zargar.
Afsar Ali Khan, while speaking on the occasion, assured full support to the District Bandipora Kalaripayattu Association from the administration and stressed on the need to extend the base of martial arts to every nook and corner of District Bandipora.
