Reviews plan for its preservation, restoration & other developmental works
ANANTNAG: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today visited Aishmuqam to pay obeisance at Shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Zain ud Din Wali (RA) and reviewed plans for preservation, restoration and other developmental works of the heritage shrine.
The DC on the occasion said that plans for preservation, restoration and other developmental works have already been approved and some funds have also been disbursed to the concerned department. He said that the Shrine is an important cultural centre and attracts many devotees and has high potential for boosting religious tourism.
Dr Basharat interacted with the PRI members and representatives from Urban Local Bodies who put forth some demands. They were assured of appropriate action. The DC was informed of the works being executed in Aishmuqam and the timeline for completion by concerned officers.
Prior to this, the DC interacted with the intezamia committee of the Shrine. They informed him that the committee had actively collaborated with the District Administration during the pandemic. They welcomed the DC and assured him of full cooperation.
The DC was accompanied by ADC, CPO, ACD, CMO, Tehsildar, BMO Mattan among others during the visit.
