Srinagar: Indian Army organised first ever Machhal Athletics Meet for the youth of Machil on Thursday, a statement issued by army said.
The three day long athletic meet sa witnessed participation from each village.
The event was an endeavour under Project Sadhbavna to inspire the youth of Machil to take up athletics as a sport and identify their prowess. Students of Machhal High School, Dapbal High School and Pushwari Middle school participated in large numbers in both track and field events. The girls also participated in the track events. The inter school competition was enjoyed by everyone and villagers came in large numbers to witness the school meet
The winners and runner ups in each event were awarded medals. The children enjoyed and participated in each event wholeheartedly.
