FCS&CA recovers Rs. 30500 fine from 75 erring shopkeepers for violation of EC Act

1 Mutton shop, 2 vegetable shops also stand sealed

SRINAGAR: The Enforcement Wing of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department today recovered a penal sum of rupees Rs. 30500 from 75 erring shopkeepers for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, besides one mutton shop and two vegetable shops were also sealed, here.
The penal action was taken against the erring during market checking of 335 business establishments.
It is worth mentioning here that during the current financial year, an amount of Rs 4702800 has been collected as fine from 10020 erring traders for violating E.C.Act. Besides, 174 establishments have been sealed and police complaints against 11 erring traders also stand lodged.
Moreover, the erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in future. The drive will continue in the same passion in future as well and whosoever found violating the norms will be brought to justice.
