Etihad Cup: Downtown Heroes FC edge Kashmir United FC in summit clash

Srinagar: Downtown Heroes FC edge past Kashmir United FC by a solitary goal in the final of Etihad Cup played at Iqbal Stadium Pampore on Wednesday.
Both the teams made several moves from both the flanks and it was in the 34th minute of first half when Downtown Heroes FC mid-fielder Salah put the ball in the net. At the end of first half the score-line remained 1-0 in favour of Downtown Heroes FC.
In the second half Kashmir United FC tried their level best to score the equaliser but the strong defence of Downtown Heros FC thwarted their every move and when the final whistle blew the score line remained unchanged with 1-0 goals.
Tehsildar Pampore Zubair Ahmad Bhat, Tehsildar Waqf Board, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din were Chief guests on the prize distribution ceremony and gave away the prizes.
Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussian, CEO Meeta, Gowhar Aman, Chairman National and International Football Federation (NIFF) Bashir Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
The Championship was organized by Etihad Football Academy in Association with District Football Association Pulwama (Zone Pampore) in which a total of 32 teams from Kashmir valley participated.
