PAMPORE: District Mineral Officer Pulwama (DMO) Fayaz Ahmad Bhat has seized 38 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Pampore and Pulwama district during the raids in the last 72 hours.
A team of officials from Geology and Mining Department Pulwama laid a crackdown at various locations of Pampore and Pulwama areas and seized 38 vehicles for illegal mining and transporting illegally.
33 vehicles and 5 heavy earth moving machines have been seized by District mineral officer Pulwama Fayaz Ahmad Bhat along with his field functionaries in the last 72 hours of uninterrupted operation in Pampore Tehsil and other areas of Pulwama district, officials told Kashmir Reader.
DMO Pulwama Fayaz Ahmad Bhat told Kashmir Reader he along with his team conducted raids in different areas including Khrew Pampore, Awantipora, Kakapora, Tahab, Ladipora, Nallah Romshi and other parts of Pulwama district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials.
During this drive 33 vehicles and heavy Earth moving machines used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted were seized.
These vehicles were being used in illegal mining, extraction, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted during this operation.
He told Kashmir Reader that all of his staff has been put on alert to monitor illegal mining that has been looting the public resources.
He further said that all the illegal mining cases would be dealt with under the rules and all the things against the violators would be done by a FastTrack system.
The operation against the illegal mining and transporting is going on in different areas of the Pulwama district.
