VC SKUAST-K inaugurates certificate course for fertilizer dealers

Srinagar: Certificate course for fertilizer dealers was kick started at Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K. Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K inaugurated 15 days short term certificate course for Fertilizer Input and Prospective Dealers on Integrated Nutrient Management.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai in his address told the audience that due to various interventions by SKUAST-K, the yield of almost all the crops has witnessed a considerable increase. Vice Chancellor also updated the audience on the different aspects of integrated nutrient management in different crops. He further advised the participants to promote organic farming in the region, and stressed upon safeguarding health issues and the environment.
The function was co-chaired by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension/SAMETI, SKUAST-K and inaugural session of the programme was attended by Associate Director Extension (AS), Deputy Director (Trgs), scientists of the Directorate of Extension and 30 participants of certificate course from different districts of the valley.
The worthy Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi while addressing the participants of the course deliberated on the importance of integrated nutrient management in sustainable agriculture. He asked the participants to practically apply in the fields what they will learn from this course. He assured them to provide the best learning platform during the period of this short term course.
The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks.
