SRINAGAR: A one day awareness cum seed distribution of vegetable seeds under TSP programme was
organized at Nargestan, Tral, Pulwama by KVK Pulwama in collaboration with MRCFC, Khudwani on Monday.
A gathering of hundred tribal farmers and farm women attended the programme in the Govt High School, Bemeirs despite heavy rains. Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi graced the occasion. He distributed seed kits consisting of exotic vegetables, chillies, gourd, bitter gourd various beans, tomatoes, capsicum etc for both rabbi and kharif season among the tribal farmers of the Tral region.
Head, KVK Pulwama, Prof. J.A. Mugloo, who was also present on the occasion, gave awareness to farmers about quality seed and its importance for high returns especially for hilly areas.
Later in the day, Director Extension along with team of KVK and scientists from MRCFC Khudwani went for the monitoring of FLDs for SR 5 rice and Shalimar Rajmash; and the farmer field in the Nargis tribal village of Tral
