PAMPORE: Traffic police started a drive against illegally parked vehicles in the Saffron Town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
As part of the special drive, Traffic police team headed by Section Officer traffic rural Pampore Mohammad Akbar launched a drive in various public places including hospital road, Namblabal, near J&K bank Namblabal and Drangbal Pampore to free the roads from wrong parking parked vehicles on the busy hospital road in the Saffron Town.
Several wrongly parked vehicles including motorcycles were E-challaned and imposed fine on the spot.
A traffic police officer told Kashmir Reader that they have launched a special drive against wrong parking vehicles in many places including hospital road. During the drive 21 vehicles including 15 vehicles and six two-wheelers and a court challan have been served to the violters and a fine of Rs 10,500 also imposed.

Most of the shopkeepers and customers were parking their vehicles on the busy hospital road near J&K bank, near SDH Pampore, boys Higher secondary school which was creating hurdle in the smooth flow of the traffic on the hospital road, Traffic police section officer Mohammad Akbar told Kashmir Reader.
The owners of business establishments and other people in the area were requested to park their vehicles at specified parking slots, for ensuring free flow of traffic on the hospital road.
Traffic police also asked residents to inform them if they found vehicles parked illegally on the hospital road in the Saffron Town.
People of the town were lauded and thanked the Traffic police department for carrying such a drive in the area.
According to the locals of the Saffron Town everyday emergency vehicles of SDH Pampore get blocked due to traffic jams on hospital road Khrew Chowk and near JK bank branch Namblabal and Kadlabal while taking patients to the hospital due to illegal parking of vehicles outside the hospital road, J&K bank branch Namblabal, hospital road Kadlabal.
