Srinagar: The National Statistical Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, Regional Office Srinagar organised a three-day Regional Training Camp (RTC) on 27th, 28th and 29th July2022. The subject coverage of the RTC was Household Consumption Expenditure (HCES).
HCES collects information required for the purpose of preparation of weighting diagram through determination of budget shares of different commodity groups in total consumption for completion of consumer price indices for rural and urban India.
The conference was inaugurated By Shri. Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Director, NSO (FOD), Regional Office (RO) Jammu, The other participants included Smt. Suraya Anwar, Incharge NSO (FOD), RO Srinagar, all Senior Statistical Officers, Survey Supervisors and Survey Enumerators.
In his inaugural address, Shri. Kumar highlighted the need of data collected in respect of statistical indicators of level of living, social consumption and well-being and inequalities therein. He stressed for collection of quality data and appealed to the general public for extending cooperation to the Survey Enumerators of the Department in the nation building data. —PIB
