Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K holds certificate distribution of fertilizers input, prospective dealers

Srinagar: A 15 days Short Term Certificate Course for Fertilizer Input and Prospective Dealers on Integrated Nutrient Management concludes at Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K. The valedictory session was inaugurated by Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Director Extension/SAMETI, SKUAST-Kashmir and valedictory session was attended by scientists of Directorate and 270 participants of Certificate course from different districts of Kashmir Valley.
Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi in his address deliberated on the need and importance of certificate course and appreciated the interest shown by the participants from far flung areas of the valley and said that the participants were provided with the best learning platform during the different sessions of these certificate courses through able and experience of scientific staff of SKUAST-K.
He further said that the organizers gave a practical exposure to bacteria and other biological agents used in the Nutrient Management. Participants were also given demonstration on how to draw a soil sample from the field and its submission to necessary quarters for getting soil health card. Director Extension stressed the participant on the appropriate dosage and concentrations of fertilizers and pesticides and also emphasized to follow spray schedule issued by SKUAST-Kashmir strictly with its need based modifications in a state of emergent situation as demanded under field conditions. The certificates were distributed among 270 participants by Director Extension.
The Deputy Director (Trgs), Dr. FarahnazRasool gave the salient features of the training programme and thanked the participants for showing zeal and interest in the training programme.
The valedictory function was concluded with a vote of thanks.
