Pampore village gets power supply, macadamised road for the first time

PAMPORE: Batdalow forest area of Khrew village of Pampore Tehsil in South Kashmir’s Pulwama gets electricity, and a macadamised road for the first time.
The residents of the area were jubilant after seeing electric lamps of their houses glowing for the first time.
The DDC member Tazeema Akhtar and Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference General Secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal inaugurated three new installed transformer of 63 KVA at Batdalow and Wahab Sahab areas of Pampore Tehsil and also inaugurated a blacktopped road connecting Batdalow with Khrew town.
They were accompanied by PDD, RDD officials, and dozens of local residents of these areas.
One new transformer was inaugurated at Batdalow Khrew village of Pampore in the presence of scores of people of the area.
Two transformers were inaugurated in the Wahab Sahab area.
DDC member Tazeema Akhtar told Kashmir Reader that the Batdalow hilly village was facing power crisis from the past several years.
The DDC member and Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference General Secretary also inaugurated macdizimation of Batdalow road connecting with Khrew town.
The macadamization project of the road which cost of rupees three crore with drainage system of the three kilometres road connecting with Khrew town.
A large number of people of these areas were also present on the occasion, who extended thanks to the DDC member Tazeema Akhtar and Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference General Secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal for solving their long pending problem.
DDC member Tazeema Akhtar and Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference General Secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal during the visit visited the villager and congratulated the villagers on getting electricity supply and macadamization for the first time at Batdalow village.
Local people also thanked them and District Administration Pulwama especially Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary for solving their long pending demand.
The local residents told Kashmir Reader they received electricity for the first time in 20 year. There are about a dozen houses here that have now got electricity supply.
Our children could not study in the dark. Even to charge our mobile phone, we used to travel to Khrew, locals said.
A local resident told Kashmir Reader that the electricity supply would help his children do well in their studies.
“We are thankful to the district administration Pulwama, DDC member and Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference General Secretary for providing us electricity,” he said.
“This is for the first time that development work has been started in this tribal area,” Mohammad Yaseen Poswal, General secretary Gujar and Bakerwal Conference told Kashmir Reader,adding that the project is funded under NABARD.
He said that the people of the area were suffering as they had to travel 3 Kms on foot to reach Khrew from Batdalow.
He said that by macadamising the 3 kilometer Batdalow Khrew road they heaved a sigh of relief to the residents.
He appreciated and thanked LG government and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama.
” We were listening to the government saying that villages will be the focus of development and today we are seeing this happening.
The road macadamisation started from the village and will proceed towards the town. We want to thank DCC member Tazeema Akhter and District administration for this,” he said.
