Commissioner SMC reviews ICDS run schemes in Srinagar

Srinagar: Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan today took a detailed review meeting regarding the programs / schemes run by the ICDS department in Srinagar.
A power point presentation regarding the programs of schemes run by ICDS was given on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner Adminstration, SMC, Riyaz Ahmed Shah, Zeenat Ara Distt. Programme officer ,Dr Jameel Mir CMO Srinagar, CDPO’s Bashir Malik and Supervisors of ICDS District Program Officer, CDPO of ICDS projects Srinagar, Eidgah, Batwara and Khanyar along with concerned supervisors .
The schemes including supplementary nutrition program,Poshan Abhiyan, Laadli beti scheme, Pradan Mantri Mantru Yojna , PreSchool Education in Anganvadi Centre’s, scheme for adolescent Girls(SAG), Adhar enrollment of 0 to 5 years beneficiaries were reviewed at length.
Commissioner SMC after reviewing the schemes directed officials of ICDS and Health departments to work in coordination so that the maximum number of beneficiaries under different schemes can be benefitted and covered.
Athar stressed that there is a need to have coverage of more beneficiaries under Poshan Abhiyan and Aadhar Enrollment of all the births is equally important.For development of infrastructure of AWCS , Joint Commissioner was directed to formulate a plan and also for Early Child Care and Education .
In order to take schemes to grassroot level , Commissioner SMC said ,IEC is the need of hour and directed officials to carry out community based events in every ward / panchayat halqa of srinagar and use of print,electronic and social media can also act as a medium of information, education and communication.
