Girls Higher Secondary School Pampore observes world environmental day

PAMPORE: World Environmental day was observed at government girls higher secondary school Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
The event was organised by government girls higher secondary school Pampore in collaboration with zonal Education Office Pampore to mark the World Environmental Day-2022.
During the programme awareness programme, painting Competition and plantation drive were held in the premises of the college.
The programme was attended by Principal girl higher secondary school Pampore Nazir Ahmad Khan, ZEO Pampore Abdul Rashid, Principal govt higher secondary Ladhoo Mohammad Ashraf, zonal president JKTF Pampore Bilal Ahmad Wani , teaching staff of zone Pampore.
A number of girl students from various govt higher secondary schools also participated in the event, Officials told Kashmir Reader.
During this occasion painting-cum-sketching competition was also organised in which a number of students from different educational institutions participated.
In the Painting-cum-Sketching Competition, participants presented their talent by drawing different paintings on the topic.
Government girls Higher secondary school also conducted a plantation drive in the premises of the college and planted scores of saplings in the college
“Today world environment day was organised at GirlsHigher Secondary School Pampore, all my staff was present, besides it saw representation from zones and other higher secondary schools, we held essay, painting competition and also held a plantation drive in collaboration with social forestry ,” Principal G Girls Higher Secondary School Pampore told Kashmir Reader, adding that the aim of the programme was to create awareness about environment cleanliness.
A number of speakers deliberated on the importance of preserving the environment.
