JAMMU: ICDS Project Gandhi Nagar today organized an Awareness camp on “Anaemia prevention” and “Prevention of Malnutrition in children” as part of POSHAN Abhlyan.
The camp included Haemoglobin estimation of beneficiaries, Health check up of children, Awareness on Anaemia and Malnutrition. Iron and Folic acid tablets were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
Recipe demonstration using locally available ingredients for Anaemia prevention, Awareness generation regarding various ICDS Schemes- PMMVY, Ladli Beti, SAG, and awareness about Fortified foods provided as Supplementary nutrition in Anganwadi Centresm were other activities of the camp. An “Aadhaar camp” for Aadhaar generation and updation/correction was also organized.
The Guest of honour included Abhishek Abrol -Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jammu South and Ajay Gupta-Councilor of Ward No.52.
