Sumbal: Halqa Adab Sonawari in collaboration with Govt Higher Secondary School Shadipura organized a literary function in the memory of late Amin Kamil.
The event was presided over by renowned intellectual and writer Prof. Muhammad Zaman Azarda. Besides him Prof. Shad Ramzan, Muhammad Amin Butt, Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Dr. GM Puju were in the presidium . Welcoming the guests, HAS President Shakir Shafi in his speech urged the writers to rise above personal ambitions and egoism for the service of Kashmiri language and literature and create a spirit of volunteerism.
Shahbaz Hakbari presented his dissertation on Amin Kamil’s book “Spirituality” and Dr. Adil Mohi-ud-Din’s dissertation was presented by Dr. Riaz-ul-Hassan in his absence on the occasion.
Prof. Mohammad Zaman Azarda called Amin Kamil a writer of all times and paid great homage to him in wonderful words.
Muhammad Amin Butt, Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Prof. Shad Ramzan also expressed their views and paid glowing tribute to Kamil Shab .
The function also saw the unveiling of the monograph “Amin Kamil” compiled by the late Dr. Aziz Hajani. This monograph has been published by Sahitya Academy, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, the annual magazine “Soroush” of Govt Higher Secondary School Shadipura was also launched in the event .
A poetry recital was also held at the end of the program. Which was presided over by Sanaullah Niaz. .
More than a dozen poets participated in this poetry contest.
At the end, the principal of the institute, Dr. GM Puju, presented a vote of thanks.
The event was graced by writers from all over the valley.
