World No Tobacco Day observed at Ladhoo Pampore

PAMPORE: World No Tobacco Day was observed at government higher secondary school Ladhoo area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore under the chairmanship of Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore Junaid Imtiaz Mir (KCS Judicial) organised an awareness programme regarding the subject titled Anti Tobacco Day at Govt Higher Secondary School Ladhoo Pampore, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The programme was attended by Bar Association President Ajaz Ahmad Khan, senior Adv Bashir Ahmad Malik, principal of the School, School staff, Bar Association members and PLVs and Panel Lawyers of TLSC Pampore.
About 250 students, both boy’s and girls participated in the programme.
The objective of the programme was to make the students aware about the negative impacts of Tobacco on health and society, officials.
During his speech Junaid Imtiaz Mir Munsiff/JMIC Chairman TLSC, Pampore briefed the students about how Tobacco use is a global epidemic among young people. As with adults, it poses a serious health threat to youth and young adults. He spoke about finding a solution to this menace. He spoke about how Tobacco is not only harmful to the smoker but also people around the smoker.
During his speech he said how students can be helpful to their family members at their home to get rid of cigarette and Tobacco smoking.
Adv Ajaz Ahmad Khan during his speech briefed the students regarding the acts about cigarette and Tobacco.
Adv Bashir Ahmad Malik and PLV Javaid Ahmad Mir gave a brief speech regarding the same.
Various students from the school spoke during the programme and a skit was performed by students.
