266 Kanals State/ Kahcharai land retrieved in Kachama, Bongam Pohrupeth

KUPWARA: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, a joint team of Revenue Department and other concerned carried out an anti-encroachment drive in kachama village of Kralpora tehsil in Kupwara district for retrieving land encroached by various encroachers.
After the completion of the eviction drive, 199 Kanals and 6 Marlas of State Land and Kahcharie Land bearing khasra Numbers 1015 and 1008 has been retrieved at the village. The land was handed over to Panchayat Kachama on Superdnama.
The anti- encroachment drive was supervised by Tehsildar Kralpora, Firdoos Ahmad Qaderi. The PRIs and senior citizens of the village also supported the drive.
In another anti-encroachment drive 66kanals and 17 marlas of land was retrieved from various encroachers at Bongam Pohrupeth in Langate tehsil of Kupwara district. This land includes 45 kanal 6 marla state land and 21 kanal 11 marla kahcharaie land. The drive was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Langate, Abrar Inayat. BDC Chairperson, Showkat Pandit and other PRIs were also present at the occasion.
The retrieval drive was held on the demand of local youth who had projected their demand before Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir during his recent visit to the area.
The local populace of both the villages/ areas complimented the Deputy Commissioner and his team for initiating the good decision of evicting the state land and kahcharie for the welfare of the village and local area.
The Deputy Commissioner, on the occasion also complimented the Revenue Department and directed respective Tehsildars of the district to safeguard the government property, State land and kahcharaie land.
He directed them to continue to drive against illegal encroachers and evict all state and kahcharaei land from them, across the district. He also appealed to the general public to cooperate with the administration in retrieving the encroached lands.
Khalid Jahangir said that it was the state land which is being used for developing communication facilities, roads and infrastructure building for the larger benefits of the public. He said that District Administration Kupwara is committed to create better infrastructure and improve civic amenities for the people of the district.
