Intending Hajj pilgrims vaccinated at SDH Pampore: Official

PAMPORE: A special vaccination drive organised by sub district hospital Pampore for Hajj pilgrimags at SDH Pampore.
About 120 Hajj Pilgrims hailing from Pampore, Khrew, Ladhoo, Awantipora, Kakapora, Lajoora and other areas of the health block Pampore where vaccinated as precautionary measure to protect them from any contagious disease during the Hajj pilgrimage of 2022, officials told Kashmir Reader.
First Hajj flight for 2022 from J&K will take off from Srinagar Airport on June 5.
“Around 150 Hajj aspirants are scheduled to be vaccinated, so far 120 have been vaccinated for measles, they were given vaccines against three infectious disease, for check ups two doctors were put on duty,” in charge vaccinations Wajahat Bashir at SDH Pampore told Kashmir Reader.
Dr Mohammad Iqbal Wani told Kashmir Reader that more than 100 Hajj aspirants were examined and after examinations they were vaccinated against influenza, Meaningitis and Polio.
” The vaccinations are given to protect Hajj aspirants from infections,” he said, adding that there are changes catching in places were there is rush of people.
He added that so far they compeleted 85 per cent of the target and by all will be vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the vaccination drive also held in district hospital Pulwama, sub district hospital Rajpora and sub district hospital Tral where hundreds of pilgrims vaccinated during the drive.

The department of health is conducting this vaccination drive free of cost.
