Srinagar: A TV artist, Arbeena Bhat, and her 10-year-old nephew were shot at by suspected militants outside their home in Hishroo area of Chadoora in Budgam on Wednesday evening. The actress succumbed to her injuries on way to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
A top police officer said that militants fired upon the artist and her 10-year-old nephew outside their home in Hishroo Chadoora and both of them were immediately removed to Chadoora hospital from where Ambreeem was shifted to SMHS hospital.
However, Ambreen succumbed to critical injuries on way to SMHS hospital and was declared as brought dead by the doctors who attended upon her. “She was brought dead,” Medical Superintendent of SMHS hospital, Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh said.
Sources said that Farhan, the nephew, suffered a bullet injury in arm and is admitted at a Chadoora hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, police sources said.
Police said in a statement that at about 1955 hrs, militants fired upon Amreen Bhat, D/o Khazir Mohd Bhat, R/o Hushroo Chadoora, at her home.
