Srinagar: The body of a 25-year-old man, resident of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, was found lying near a railway bridge in Banihal of Ramban district, officials said.
They said that Mohammad Yousaf Dar, resident of Chitragam, approached the local police station at Zainapora saying that he came to know through social media about the body of his nephew lying near a railway bridge in Banihal.
Identifying the deceased as Asif Ramzan, son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie of Chittragam, the person said Asif had gone shopping last Friday ahead of his marriage.
“On contacting the police in Banihal, they confirmed the recovery of the body from the area”, the officials said.
It has been learnt that Asif was due to get married on May 16.
A few family members are on their way to Banihal to ferry back the mortal remains of their beloved.
