Gayoor Foundation to set up Trust, Cancer Hospital in Pampore

PAMPORE: Gayoor Foundation, a literary and cultural organization, is setting up a trust in Saffron Town Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
The trust will work to establish a cancer hospital in Pampore Tehsil.
This was revealed by Er Showket Gayoor Andrabi, president of Gayoor foundation on Sunday here at townhall Pampore during a meeting of its executive members.
Talking to Kashmir Reader he said that they will be setting up a trust in the name of his father, Ghulam Rasool Gayoor, which will work to address needs of orphans, patients and destitutes.
“The most important thing is that through the trust we are thinking of setting up a cancer hospital at any place in Pampore Tehsil where patients can get treatment free of cost,” Showket Gayoor said, adding that the hospital will be set up in his father’s name.
He told Kashmir Reader that this will not be done over a night but will need time.
He also appealed to the people of Pampore to support him.
He also said that the leadership of the welfare trust will be handed to the people of Pampore and that he will work as a member of the trust.
The meeting at town hall was presided over by Professor Shad Ramzan in which all the members of the executive body took part.
The meeting was aimed at setting the agenda for making Gayoor foundation a welfare trust that will be serving the needy and down trodden sections of the society.
Main mandate of this trust is to serve the down trodden sections of the society.
The President of the foundation S Showkat Gayoor while presenting the welcome address said that the trust will be headquartered at Pampore. He also assured that if everything goes well a cancer hospital will be pitched up at Pampore for which he appealed the locals to extend full support.
Professor Shad Ramzan entrusted that the proposed trust should be a “mission” whose base should be knowledge driven.
Founder member Mir Ghulam Rasool Pampori while extending his full support deliberated upon the legalities, laws by laws and outcomes of the proposed welfare trust.
Muntazir Mohi-ud-Din was all praise for the fertility of the land of saffron and expressed happiness for keeping the headquarters at the Pampore.
Those who spoke out their heart about the trust and activities of Gayoor foundation include Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Andrabi Kreeri, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mehraj-Ud-Din, Javaid Qadri, Dr Nasir, Molvi Abdul Majeed, Gamgeen Majid, G M Pampori, Bashir Nadeem etc. Some other participants also extended assistance inthe form of cash and checks.
All the speakers spoke about the issues confronting present day youth especially the poverty, unemployment, social evils and the way forward to overcome that. They extended their full support to the noble cause.
Kaleem Bashir, spoke on the agenda of today’s function and presented a vote of thanks while Imdad Saqi conducted the proceedings of the function.
